Selected photographs of railroad transport in center, north and west Bohemia, but especially (as with all my railway photographs, even if I write about it for the first time now) symbolism of human life and railway. After all, just as a train we are moving forward along a specific path. Slower and faster, we ascend and descend, straight or in curves ... sooner or later, however, we will always come to a turnout, where we have to decide, where will we put it, which way we will go. And if we choose wrong, either we have to go back long and unsimply, or worse, we will stay on the wrong way, that will take us there, where we never found ourselves. Some turnouts have more than two turnings, that can makes our decision harder and the option of making the wrong choice more likely. However, if we choose the path correctly, we are still closer to our destination. – For many years, I see railways as an image of a human life journey and I am almost certain, that there is no more accurate comparison. –
All photographs on this page has been created with small cheap photographic camera Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II, which keeps me pleasantly surprised even after several months of photography. First of all the quality of the photographs (really unexpected with a kit lens Olympus M. Zuiko Digital 14 – 42 mm 1 : 3.5 – 5.6 R), but also with countless practical features and setting options, which are only reserved for professional gear by other manufacturers usually (and often we do not find them). However, to avoid confusion, the small Olympus is not supposed to replace my Canon DSLR cameras in any way. For the creation of high-quality large format photographs of landscape, nature, still life and architecture the largest possible image sensor and high quality lenses are required, which, due to the size of the rendered image circle, must be with acceptable speed inherently larger and heavier. Such a gear can no longer be easily carried, let alone have it still with you in a compact and inconspicuous bag. And here's the place for Olympus – small sensor, small lenses, a light, but honest gear that fits in the palm of hand, it can be taken with you everywhere and thus, among other things, protect and prolong the life of that great, heavy one.
Order these photographs on thick glossy photographic paper in A4 format (29.7 x 21 cm / 11.7" x 8.3"), so-called Sheets from the Archive. For more information please visit the page ►Buy a print.
