On the northeast from the Krivoklatska highland, on the edge of the south-eastern part of the Dolnooharska table, in the Kladenska table. In the watershed between the Vltava and Berounka rivers. Formerly the village of Kladensky from Kladno in the middle of a forested region, later an industrial and mining town, known for its hard coal mining and especially the giant steelworks Poldi. Now the largest town in the Stredocesky region.

Founded: 1318, population: 69 000, altitude: 381 m, region: Stredocesky.
