OVER THE HILLS.

DIFFERENT LANDSCAPES GALLERY XIX. – INTO THE DISTANCE.

"As if from a tall ship's deck, we see a glowing island in the distance. However, we prefer to sail on."

The photograph is imaginarily divided into two areas. The foreground, which is more or less natural, with only a fenced pasture, symbolized by a slightly out of focus wooden pole, and the background, where in the distance is, like a brightly lit island, a factory with a tall chimney. The boat from the introductory paragraph is a symbol of the choice of where to go next. Whether to stay in a not very changed, original landscape, or to leave it and go to a somewhat hostile, cold island. The atmosphere is emphasized by a blanket of heavy clouds and already advanced twilight, which only slightly illuminated the white mists in the valley.
