TWO NEW NIKKOR LENSES.

NIKKOR Z 180 – 600 mm f/5.6 – 6.3 VR and NIKKOR Z 70 – 180 mm f/2.8.

Nikon introduced two new telephoto lenses today. It doesn't belong to the top-of-the-line S series, however, I've had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the photographs produced by various other lenses in this lower series, and I have to say, that their quality is not bad at all. Certain limitations must be taken into account and situations where they can manifest themselves must be avoided. Then, even with these relatively affordable lenses, excellent photographs can be created in every way.



















↑ Nikkor Z 180 – 600 mm f/5.6 – 6.3 VR is the Nikon answer to the great Sony FE 200 – 600 mm f/5.6 – 6.3 G OSS. I used it mainly for landscape photography for about a year and was very satisfied with it. The new Nikkor has a 20 mm shorter initial focal length than the Sony, as long as it doesn't affect image quality, it's always a plus. The front part of the lens does not extend when changing focal lengths. The price should be approximately $1700. The lens should be available from this August.

↑ The Nikkor Z 70 – 180 mm f/2.8 is a cheaper and lighter variant to the excellent Nikkor Z 70 – 200 mm f/2.8 VR S, which I bought last year at the beginning of June and I am satisfied with it in all respects, rather completely excited. The new lens offers a slightly smaller range of focal lengths, lower price, weight and dimensions, which can be an advantage especially for reportage photography. It lacks a great display for displaying focal lengths and focus distances, has no image stabilization, and the front part slides out when we change the focal length. But what is important is, that it is the first lens of this focal length with an aperture of 2.8, which can be called light and quite affordable. The price should be approximately $1250. The lens should be in stores in mid-July 2023.
