Nikon introduces the new Nikkor Z 600 mm f/6.3 VR S telephoto lens. It is another Nikkor that uses the characteristics of a Fresnel lens. Nikon calls it Phase Fresnel, PF for short. This single optical element (instead of the usual array of elements) is sufficient to effectively reduce chromatic aberration. This significantly reduces the length and weight of the lens. Thanks to this optical design, a strong super-telephoto lens with a focal length of 600 mm can therefore be only 278 mm long and weigh only 1390 g. The new Nikkor will be available in stores from the end of October 2023. The retail price is approximately $4800 (no VAT) or 5800 € incl. VAT 19% (Germany).
